Jimi James began entertaining audiences as a classical pianist in the streets of Compton in 1968, honing his craft through intermediate and high school performances.
 

Right after high school graduation, he was swept into the Hollywood scene, joining the renowned family band The Sylvers in 1976. This launched his professional career, where he played arenas, Las Vegas shows, and television appearances alongside top acts. Over the years, he has performed behind The Sylvers, Linda Clifford, The Platters, Morris Day and The Time, and shared stages with legends like The Jackson 5, Tom Jones, Bill Cosby, Rick James, Linda Clifford, The Platters, and many more.
